Skin Care Ingredients (to look for in your next purchase)

Are you looking for some good facial/skincare products? Here are some dermatologist approved ingredients to look for in your next product purchase:

  1. Lactic Acid– Is a good chemical exfoliant with moisturizing properties. It has even shown to be effective in helping Keratosis Pilaris. It is also known to stimulate collagen production.
  2. Kojic Acid– is an antioxidant which helps to get rid of free radicals that can cause skin damage. It is also antimicrobial and has shown in studies to lighten skin damage caused by the sun or scars.
  3. Vitamin C with Ferulic Acid– Vitamin C helps protect against the sun and can increase collagen production. A combination of 0.5% ferulic acid, 15% vitamin C, and 1% vitamin E can increase the efficacy of vitamin C by eight times! Ferulic acid is usually combined with vitamins E and C because it helps stabilize them, making your vitamin C serum last for longer.
  4. Alphy-hydroxy Acid– This acid helps to stimulate collagen production as well as aiding in brightening the skin. Primarily used for exfoliating, it can help with fine lines and wrinkles as well. It may also help with acne prone skin
  5. Glycolic Acid– This product helps exfoliate to unclog pores, as well as boosts collagen production. It can aid in breakouts and areas of hyperpigmentation.
